Alltech, the United States feed additive firm is opening its first office in Cambodia, to better deliver the level of support required to sustain the firm’s level of growth that has catapulted 33% last year. Located in Phnom Penh, Alltech already works with producers in Cambodia, supporting them with Alltech’s proprietary acidifiers and organic trace minerals. By establishing a base in the region, the firm will be repositioned becoming a stronger local partner.

Cambodia’s domestic feed production has doubled in tonnage since 2013, and is expected to double again within the next 3-4 years as the nation’s agriculture sector becomes increasingly self-sufficient.

In February 2018, 165 researches from 16 countries converged at Phnom Penh, Cambodia for the International Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Nutrition Conference, the first conference of its kind in Southeast Asia. The researches presented topics on farming systems, horticulture, livestock, soil health and nutrition, with the purpose to solve the everyday problems of millions of smallholder farmers around the globe. As Cambodia’s economy is developing rapidly, it is essentially to get the top minds in the world together to come up with solutions to the nation’s agriculture sector’s most critical problems.
